Overseas

Nichols has frequently carried out major assignments many thousands of miles from its UK headquarters.

We have worked in transport, telecommunications and financial services in Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand.

Our overseas clients have included the Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway, Kowloon-Canton Railway, Highways Department of the Hong Kong Government, Singapore Land Transport Authority, Bangkok Mass Rapid Transit, Hong Kong Telecom and Standard Chartered Bank.

In one of the earliest assignments our Chairman, Mike Nichols, directed a form of management contract covering the work of six major contractors for the first stage of the Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway which combined part of the road and rail connections of the new Hong Kong airport. The work was completed successfully on time and within budget.

Later we provided the construction management team on the West Kowloon Expressway. We also reviewed and rescued the completion of the new Hung Hom station for KCRC.

We have recently undertaken work in Dubai and Brazil. In Dubai we have acted as expert Project Management for a major litigation court case. In Brazil we are supporting Anglo American Brazil (AAB) undertake one of the largest iron ore mining projects in the world in the state of Minas Gerais. The project is being delivered in two phases and Nichols are supporting the strategic planning aspects of the project.
