Transport
Since our formation in 1975, Nichols has had an unequalled record in the transport sector. We have played a crucial role in many transport schemes in the UK including the Docklands Light Railway, London Luton Airport and Jubilee Line Extension. We have also made significant contributions outside of the UK including several in the Far East, notably in Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia.
We have advised and assisted in implementing programme management and in restructuring major capital rail investment programmes, amongst them the West Coast Route Modernisation, East Coast Main Line and Thameslink 2000.
We have worked closely with all the key organisations responsible for, or associated with, the planning and implementation of transport strategy in London. For example, we set up the London Programme Office on behalf of SRA and TfL to provide the first multi-modal picture of project delivery plans for London.
The broad spectrum of our assignments has enabled us to obtain a unique insight into the transportation needs of our clients and the way each of them sponsor, implement, commission and operate their major investments.
Our assignments include strategic consulting, in particular the strategic review of the Highways Agency's £12 billion major roads programme, interim management and programme and project delivery. These include programme management of a £billion infrastructure improvement; systems integration in a multi-stakeholder, safety-critical transport programme; risk assessment for a major airline; ticketing and revenue management and construction management for underground rail projects.
